Numa Lokeni PIECES FOR RISING - NUMA LOKENI (CD)

This 2nd opus by Numa Lokeni is part of a general trip-hop and ethnic aesthetic, nourished by rock energy, pop finesse, electro dynamics and oriental or African sounds. It is a resolutely original creation which sends the cello towards new horizons. Catchy songs (Flowers, Next Youth...) and relaxing phases (Sunshine...) follow each other elegantly. the album offers a colorful journey and ends on the progressive and hypnotizing Rebirth. The 14 tracks of Pieces for Rising, performed solo on stage, are made from a superposition of cellos (playing the role of bass, keyboards, guitar...), voices, radio... accompanied here by electro rhythms of the excellent Djibril. This disc offers another vision of the future, benevolent, spiritual but not either idealistic and even militant (It annoys me,...). A small stone in the musical edifice, we bet that the thoughts and visualizations aroused in the listener will be creative!
